Scientists are looking to salvage some of the meteorites that have plunged into the Pacific Ocean over the years. This after tracking one recently that did not break up as expected. They are using a third party submarine called the Nautilus (how original) that was already in the area and has some deep see roots for retrieval. This is of course a simplified version of the actual process but what makes it more interesting is that you can watch it LIVE here: http://www.nautiluslive.org/. The effort started on July 2, 2018. They do occasionally have transmission issues but it’s still quite interesting when it’s working. Who knows what they will find and if they recover any rocks will they bring about some new revelations in our knowledge of elements.
